Zovay works because travelers trust each other enough to plan real trips and meet up. These guidelines describe what's expected of every traveler on Zovay, and what happens when those expectations aren't met.
Be respectful
Treat other travelers the way you'd want to be treated when meeting someone for the first time on a trip. Disagreements happen; disrespect isn't welcome.
No harassment or bullying
Don't repeatedly contact someone who has asked you to stop, target someone with unwanted attention, or use Zovay to bully or intimidate another traveler.
No hate
Content or behavior that attacks people based on race, ethnicity, national origin, religion, disability, gender, gender identity, sexual orientation, or age is not allowed.
No sexual exploitation or prohibited sexual content
Sexually explicit content, and any content that sexualizes or endangers a minor, is never allowed on Zovay, with zero exceptions.
No threats or violence
Threatening another person, promoting violence, or glorifying real-world harm is not allowed.
No impersonation
Your profile must represent you. Don't pretend to be someone else, or create a profile for someone without their knowledge.
No scams or fraud
Don't use Zovay to solicit money, run investment or travel-booking scams, or deceive other travelers for financial gain.
No spam
Don't use Zovay to mass-message people, advertise unrelated services, or repost the same content across many profiles or trips.
No illegal activity
Don't use Zovay to plan, promote, or carry out anything illegal in the countries involved.
Real profiles and photos
Your profile photos should genuinely be you. Every new profile completes a selfie verification step comparing a short video against your cover photo before the profile becomes active — see the Safety page for how that works.
Travel safety
Meeting travelers you've connected with online — like meeting anyone online — carries real-world risk. Use good judgment: meet in public places first, tell someone else your plans, and trust your instincts if something feels wrong. Zovay's verification step confirms a profile matches its own photos; it does not vouch for a person's character or intentions.
Reporting
If another traveler's profile or behavior violates these guidelines, report it directly from their profile in the app. Reports are reviewed against these guidelines.
Blocking
You can block any user directly from their profile. Blocking is immediate and prevents further contact between you and that user.
Moderation and enforcement
Violating these guidelines can result in content being removed, features being limited, an account being suspended, or an account being permanently terminated, depending on the severity and history involved. Zovay reviews reports as part of its ongoing moderation process; this page does not promise a specific response time for any individual report.
Appeals
If you believe a moderation decision on your account was made in error, contact Support and explain the situation — we'll look into it.
